Look forward to a smooth, easy transition
Rest assured, your benefits and access to care haven’t changed. With a 99% provider network match, most of your current providers are likely already in the Aetna network, and the County self-funded plan coverage will stay the same in 2026.

How can I keep seeing my provider?
With Aetna, your provider network is expanding by 25,000 more local providers, including an out-of-state national network. 99% of the same providers from the former plan are part of the Aetna network. It also includes 100% of hospitals in Florida and 98% of national hospitals. Students and retirees outside Miami-Dade and Broward counties can access the national provider network.
You can use the provider search tool to check if a provider is in network.
Are my providers in the Aetna network?
Access the robust Aetna national network
This means you can receive in-network care whether you’re in-state or out-of-state. For example, if your child attends school outside Miami-Dade County, they can use their member ID card to access care—no paperwork or separate away-from-home plan needed.
Who else does Aetna serve in Miami-Dade?
Aetna serves as a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) for many of Miami-Dade’s largest institutions, including:
- Florida International University
- Miami Dade College
- University of Miami
- Baptist Health System
- Mount Sinai Medical Center
- Broward County Public Schools
Transition of Care
If you're pregnant, in treatment for a chronic illness, are hospitalized, or have a surgery scheduled in 2026, you may be able to request a transition of care (TOC). A TOC allows you to stay with your health care provider until you complete your treatment. You can request a TOC from your company's HR department, or call your Aetna Concierge at 1-833-704-0009 (TTY: 711). Aetna will work with your health care provider to ensure there are no gaps in your coverage or care.
If you are in active treatment and currently seeing a non-participating provider, please contact your Aetna Concierge at 1-833-704-0009 (TTY: 711) during Open Enrollment.
